They are active open-water fish that look particularly impressive when kept as a small group, constantly moving above the rockwork.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eIn the wild they occur in large groups around reef slopes and drop-offs, feeding on zooplankton carried through the water column. They appreciate plenty of swimming space together with caves and overhangs to retreat into when startled.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eLike other anthias, Evansi Anthias live in a social hierarchy. Groups are normally made up predominantly of females with a dominant male, and if the male is lost the dominant female can gradually change sex and take his place.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eFeeding\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eEvansi Anthias are more demanding feeders than many commonly kept anthias and can be reluctant to accept prepared foods when first introduced. Small frozen foods such as enriched brine shrimp, copepods and finely sized mysis are ideal for getting them feeding.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eOnce established they will often broaden their diet considerably, but they still benefit from several smaller feeds rather than one large meal each day.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eCompatibility\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThese are peaceful reef-safe fish and can be kept with corals and ornamental invertebrates.
