The smooth fleshy disc can expand considerably when settled, displaying the pattern across the entire surface.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eDiscosoma\u003c\/em\u003e are corallimorphs rather than stony corals. They're close relatives of reef-building corals but don't produce a hard calcium carbonate skeleton, leaving the entire animal soft, flexible and able to change shape dramatically as it expands and contracts.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eWhy We Like It\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe pattern is what makes this one.
