Small Fish Safe: No – will eat smaller fish if they fit in its mouth

Invert Safe: No – preys on shrimp, snails, crabs, and other inverts

Coral Safe: Yes – does not nip at corals

Adult Size: Up to 30 cm

Diet: Carnivore – eats meaty frozen food, live inverts, and pellets

Why We Like It:

Bold, hardy, and eye-catching, the Cuban Hogfish brings intense red and white colouring with a robust, torpedo-like body. It thrives in large predator or FOWLR systems where its appetite for inverts won’t be a problem. With its confident personality and active swimming, it’s an excellent centrepiece for tanks with other tough, fast-moving species. Not reef-safe with shrimp, but a showy and durable fish for experienced keepers.
