What it is
A frozen zooplankton food made from Calanus finmarchicus, a nutrient-rich North Atlantic copepod. Supplied in a convenient blister pack with individually portioned cubes, it is rapidly frozen and gamma irradiated to eliminate parasites and bacteria while preserving nutritional quality. (Fishkeeper)
Why we like it
This is one of the best “small particle” frozen foods you can feed. It’s ideal for fish that naturally pick at plankton—anthias, wrasse, mandarins—and it also doubles up as a coral feed. You get strong feeding response without the mess of larger foods, and it’s excellent for boosting condition and colour when used alongside pellets. It’s an easy upgrade from basic frozen like brine.
Relevant details
Naturally rich in marine lipids and pigments, supporting energy levels and coloration. Fine particle size makes it suitable for small-mouthed fish and broadcast feeding for corals. Each pack contains pre-portioned cubes for controlled feeding and minimal waste. Suitable for marine, tropical, and coldwater species. (Fishkeeper)
