Description
Gamma Ray Mini Acro Colony is a vivid Acropora selected for its intense fluorescent colour and strong contrast. The pigmentation follows the branches, growth tips and individual corallites, giving the colony loads of fine detail as well as the overall colour impact expected from a premium Acro.
Acropora are some of the most important reef-building corals in the wild. Their rapidly growing branching skeletons create complex three-dimensional habitat, while each branch is covered with individual corallites housing the colony's tiny polyps.
Why We Like It
The Gamma Ray name suits this one perfectly — it's bright, fluorescent and looks almost radioactive under blue-spectrum reef lighting. Being a mini colony rather than a small frag also means the branching shape and contrasting growth tips are already there to enjoy.
Care Notes
Best suited to an established SPS reef with strong lighting, high varied flow and stable water chemistry. Consistent alkalinity is particularly important, alongside adequate calcium and magnesium to support skeletal growth. Good nutrient availability and stability will help maintain strong colour and continued branch development.
