Description

Golden Confetti Yuma is a premium Ricordea morph with rich golden colouration broken up by contrasting flecks and patches across its heavily textured surface. Hundreds of rounded vesicles cover the fleshy disc, giving the different colours plenty of depth and creating the scattered ?confetti? appearance behind the name.

Ricordea yuma is an Indo-Pacific corallimorph rather than a stony coral. One of its characteristic features is the covering of bubble-like vesicles extending right towards the mouth, helping distinguish it from the Caribbean Ricordea florida.

Why We Like It

Gold is a fantastic colour on a Yuma because every individual vesicle catches the light differently. Add the scattered contrasting pigmentation of the Confetti pattern and there's an enormous amount of detail packed into one mushroom. It's the sort of coral that gets better the closer you look.

Care Notes

Yumas generally prefer moderate to lower lighting and gentler flow. They are photosynthetic and don't require direct feeding, although they can capture suitably sized foods. Once established, healthy specimens can reproduce and produce additional mushrooms around the original.
