Description

Green Star Polyp is a brilliantly fluorescent soft coral that produces masses of bright green, star-shaped polyps from a spreading purple mat. Once established, the colony can create a dense field of waving green polyps with plenty of movement in the flow.

Rather than building a branching or stony structure, Green Star Polyp grows by extending its purple mat across the surface beneath it. New polyps then emerge from this mat, allowing the colony to steadily cover rockwork and other suitable surfaces.

Why We Like It

Few easy corals give you this much colour and movement. It's incredibly bright, grows enthusiastically and can be used creatively rather than simply placed on a rock ? isolated colonies can be allowed to cover their own island, back walls and other surfaces to create a completely different look.

Care Notes

A hardy, photosynthetic coral that doesn't require direct feeding and tolerates a broad range of reef lighting. Growth can be very fast once established, so placing it on an isolated rock or another deliberately chosen area makes it much easier to control where the colony spreads.
