The Three Stripe Damsel is one of the most recognisable marine fish, distinguished by its bold black and white bands and active, confident personality. Hardy and full of character, it is an excellent choice for established marine aquariums and is often recommended for aquarists looking for a robust, long-lived species.

Juveniles are generally peaceful, but as they mature they become increasingly territorial and may defend their chosen area against smaller or more timid fish. For this reason, they are best kept with similarly confident tank mates in appropriately sized aquariums.

Completely reef safe, the Three Stripe Damsel will not damage corals or ornamental invertebrates and thrives in aquariums with plenty of live rock to provide shelter and territories.
