Jawbreaker Discosoma Mushroom (Grade A)

One of the most recognisable and sought-after mushrooms in the hobby. Starts as a warm orange/red base and develops scattered green and yellow “splatter” over time, with high-end pieces throwing multiple colours and even blue flecking. No two are the same, and they change as they grow—what you buy now won’t be what it looks like in a year.


Why we like it
This is a long game coral. It starts nice, then turns into something ridiculous. Watching new colours come through and split across the disc is what makes it special. It’s also dead easy to keep, so you’re getting a proper collector piece without any of the usual hassle.

* Lighting: Low to moderate (too much light can wash colours)

* Placement: Lower levels, stable rock
* Growth: Slow to moderate, can split over time
* Feeding: Photosynthetic but benefits from occasional feeding
