Growing Mangroves

Mangroves require suitable lighting, stable water conditions and access to air for their leaves. Keep the growing tip and foliage above the waterline, and allow sufficient room for the plant to develop.

Although mangroves absorb nutrients as they grow, their contribution to nutrient export is generally modest compared with faster-growing macroalgae. They're best enjoyed as an interesting and attractive addition to your aquarium ecosystem.
