Modern Reef Potassium 1L

What It Is

Modern Reef K+ Potassium is a highly pure potassium supplement designed to maintain and correct potassium levels in marine reef aquariums. Potassium is an important major element found naturally in seawater and plays a role in many biological processes within corals and other reef organisms.

Why We Like It

Potassium is often overlooked compared to calcium, alkalinity and magnesium, but it can become depleted in closed reef systems, particularly aquariums with heavy coral growth, strong nutrient export or long periods without significant water changes.

Maintaining appropriate potassium levels helps support overall reef balance and is particularly important in demanding SPS aquariums, where stable trace and major element levels can contribute to consistent colour and growth.

We like the Modern Reef approach because it allows potassium levels to be corrected based on testing rather than guesswork. Regular ICP analysis helps identify when supplementation is actually required, preventing unnecessary additions.
