Description

Neon Cabbage Coral is a brightly coloured Sinularia soft coral with the broad, folded growth that gives Cabbage Corals their name. The vivid neon colouration adds far more impact than the more subdued tones associated with many traditional leather corals, becoming particularly striking under blue-spectrum reef lighting.

Rather than producing a solid stony skeleton, Sinularia contains thousands of microscopic calcium carbonate structures called sclerites. These provide support while allowing the colony to retain the flexible, gently moving form characteristic of leather corals.

Why We Like It

It combines two things we really like: the easy-going nature and chunky growth of a classic Cabbage Coral, but with genuinely standout colour. As it grows and develops more folds, you end up with a substantial feature coral rather than just a small patch of fluorescence.

Care Notes

A hardy, photosynthetic soft coral that doesn't require direct feeding. Moderate varied flow helps keep the surface clean and encourages good polyp extension. Like other leather corals, it can periodically close and develop a waxy-looking surface before shedding this layer and reopening ? completely normal behaviour.
