Description

Rainbow Dragonscale Mini Acro Colony is a highly colourful Acropora selected for its combination of rainbow pigmentation and pronounced scale-like corallite structure. The contrasting colours across the branches and individual corallites create the detailed “dragonscale” appearance that gives this Acro its name.

Like other Acropora, much of its character comes from the structure of its corallites — the individual skeletal cups housing each coral polyp. As the colony grows, these repeated structures create the intricate texture that makes Acropora look just as impressive close up as it does as a complete colony.

This has everything we want from a standout Acro: loads of colour, intricate structure and a growth form that will only become more impressive as the colony develops. Being a mini colony rather than a tiny frag also means you get the shape and character of the coral from the start.

Care Notes

Best suited to an established SPS reef with strong lighting, high varied flow and stable water chemistry. Consistent alkalinity is particularly important, alongside adequate calcium and magnesium to support skeletal growth. Good nutrient availability and stability will help maintain strong growth and colour.
