Description
Rainbow Hologram Hammer is a premium branching Hammer Coral displaying multiple contrasting colours across its fleshy hammer-shaped tentacles. The combination of different pigments and fluorescence can make the colour appear to shift as the colony moves and is viewed from different angles, giving it the holographic appearance behind the name.
Branching Hammers were historically sold as Euphyllia paraancora, but are now classified as Fimbriaphyllia paraancora. Each branch supports its own fleshy polyp, allowing established colonies to develop into dense clusters as the skeleton repeatedly divides and produces new heads.
Why We Like It
This is exactly what you want from a Rainbow Hammer: not just one dominant colour, but layers of contrasting pigmentation that change across the tentacles and really come alive as the coral moves. The holographic effect makes it particularly good viewed in person, where different angles reveal different colours.
Care Notes
Best kept with stable reef parameters, moderate lighting and varied flow that gently moves the polyps without constantly forcing them in one direction. It is primarily photosynthetic but readily accepts suitable coral foods, and occasional feeding can help support healthy growth and the development of additional heads.
