Rasta Torch Coral Care | The Happy Reef

Rasta Torch is a colourful Torch Coral morph combining contrasting green, yellow and darker tones across its long, flowing tentacles. The mix of colours gives the morph its Rasta-inspired name, while its movement makes it an eye-catching feature in the reef.

Torch Corals belong to the genus Euphyllia. Interestingly, while Hammers and Frogspawn were moved from Euphyllia into Fimbriaphyllia following taxonomic revision, Torches remained within Euphyllia.

Flow: Moderate. Random, indirect flow that keeps the long tentacles naturally swaying without continuously pushing them in one direction is ideal.

Placement: Mid Third

Feeding: Beneficial but not essential. Torch Corals are strongly photosynthetic but will also capture small meaty foods and suitable coral foods. Occasional feeding can support growth and the development of additional heads.
