Salifert Magnesium Test Kit

What It Is

The Salifert Magnesium Test Kit is a high-quality test kit designed to accurately measure magnesium in marine aquariums. Magnesium is one of the three major elements in reef keeping and plays a vital role in maintaining stable calcium and alkalinity levels while supporting healthy coral growth.

Why We Like It

Magnesium is often overlooked because it changes more slowly than calcium or alkalinity, but it's an essential part of stable reef chemistry. If magnesium becomes depleted, maintaining calcium and alkalinity at the correct levels becomes much more difficult.

We recommend checking magnesium regularly as part of your reef maintenance routine, particularly if you keep SPS corals or dose calcium and alkalinity supplements. Stable magnesium helps the entire dosing system work as intended, making it an important parameter for long-term reef success.
